For over fourteen years, Jihyun Kim has been passionately styling for film and television. She prides herself on being an intuitive artist who understands and embraces the film-making process.
She looks for projects with smart scripts and opportunities to develop interesting character roles. She relishes the research involved in breathing life into these two-dimensional characters. “They become real people to me with their own unique past, present, and future. Breaking down a script and translating how and why a character looks is something I really enjoy. It’s my job to bring someone else’s vision to life and I pour my heart and soul into doing it.”
She recently collaborated with director Ryan Coogler on the much-talked about film, "Fruitvale Station" which won top awards at Sundance, Cannes, and the Spirit Awards.
Commercially, she has worked with noted agencies Wieden & Kennedy, Droga5, BBDO, McCann Erickson Worldwide, Partizan, Young & Rubicam, AKQA, Publicis Wordwide, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, and Cole & Weber United.
Jihyun was born in Seoul, Korea and raised in Vancouver, Canada. She currently resides in San Francisco, CA.
